• The 10th World Women University President Forum, co-hosted by Communication University of China, was successfully held

    From May 26th to 27th, the 10th World Women University President Forum, jointly organized by the Organizing Committee of the World Women University President Forum, Communication University of China, and Jilin International Studies University, and co-organized by the Jiangsu China and Foreign University Women University President Education Development Foundation, was held in Changchun. More than 290 female university presidents from 65 countries and regions participated in the forum both online and offline. The forum received strong support from institutions such as the Institute for Modern Women's Leadership and China Education Television.

    This forum focused on Building a Global Higher Education Community in the Post-Pandemic Era. Participants engaged in discussions, sharing ideas, collisions of thoughts, and exchanges from different dimensions and fields, aiming to harness modern female leadership in the post-pandemic era, promote innovative development in universities, and contribute to the construction of a global higher education community.

    The World Women University President Forum was initiated and founded by Communication University of China (formerly Beijing Broadcasting Institute) in August 2001. It is an international platform that is oriented towards women, education, and the world. Its primary focus is on the development of higher education, enhancing female leadership, and bringing together female university presidents from around the world to foster international exchange, cooperation, and knowledge sharing. The forum holds its main conference in China every two to three years, with sub-forums held in different parts of the world during the interim periods. Since its establishment, it has successfully hosted ten main forums and eleven sub-forums.

    The opening ceremony of the forum was attended by prominent leaders and guests including Chen Zhili, Vice Chairperson of the 11th National People's Congress Standing Committee and the 10th National Women's Federation Chairperson; Irina Bokova, former Director-General of UNESCO; Li Weihong, former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education; Fernando Galíndez, President of the International Association of University Presidents and President of the University of Salamanca, Mexico; Wu Haiying, Vice Chairperson and Secretary of the Secretariat of the National Women's Federation; Jurgis Sariunas, President of the European University Women Presidents Association; Liang Renzhe, Vice Governor of Jilin Province, among others, who delivered congratulatory speeches at the opening ceremony.

    Also in attendance were distinguished guests including Che Xiulan, former Vice Chairperson of the Jilin Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee; Du Hongqi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Jilin Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee; Su Heng, Deputy Secretary-General of the Jilin Provincial People's Government; Yue Qiang, Inspector General of the Jilin Provincial Education Department; Wang Ping, Chairperson of the Jilin Provincial Women's Federation; Li Jianhua, Deputy Director of the Jilin Provincial Foreign Affairs Office; and Hu Zhihui, Vice Chairperson of the Jilin Provincial Women's Federation.

    Chen Zhili highly commended the consistent humanistic care and unwavering educational commitment showcased throughout the World Women University President Forum.The global crisis calls for educational responsibility, and this is where the significance of building an educational community lies.Bokova shared her views on higher education in the post-pandemic era. Li Weihong pointed out that the world is currently undergoing unprecedented changes in a century, and global higher education is facing new challenges in this era. Universities will bear greater responsibilities in addressing the common challenges faced by humanity. Fernando emphasized that the World Women University President Forum brings together the elite female forces of the global academic community, focusing on the development of higher education and the enhancement of female leadership. Wu Haiying extended congratulations on behalf of the All-China Women's Federation for the successful convening of the forum.

    Jurgis Sarunas pointed out that this forum, with the theme of Building a Global Higher Education Community in the Post-Pandemic Era, addresses the challenges faced by the academic community, including the COVID-19 pandemic and global political and economic crises.

    Liang Renzhe highly praised the outstanding contributions made by female colleagues in advancing the development of education. He expressed the hope that through the World Women University President Forum, they can learn scientific educational concepts, draw from advanced educational models, and promote the high-quality development of higher education in Jilin to achieve even greater heights.

    Zhang Shuting, the President of Communication University of China, and Qin He, the President of Jilin International Studies University, delivered welcome speeches on behalf of the organizers.

    The organizing committee of this forum has established the World Women University President Forum Award as the highest honor, to be conferred upon universities and enterprises that have been dedicated hosts and generous sponsors of various sessions of the forum.
